CANCELLATION OF TRAIN SERVICES

            Due to breaches on South Eastern Railway the following train services have been cancelled.

 

1) Train No.6323 Trivandrum – Shalimar Express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 09.55 hrs. on 29.06.2008 is cancelled.

2)   Train No.6324 Shalimar –Thiruvananthapuram Express Scheduled to arrive Chennai Central at 04.00 hrs. and leave Chennai Central at 04.15 hrs. on 03.07.2008 is cancelled.

3) Train No.2659 Nagercoil – Howrah Gurudev Express scheduled to leave Nagercoil at 14.35 hrs. on 29.06.2008 and passing through Katpadi at 07.20 hrs. on 30.06.2008 is cancelled.

4) Train No.2660 Shalimar -  Nagercoil Gurudev Express passing through   Katpadi at 05.37 hrs. on  04.07.2008 is cancelled.

5) Train No.5629 Chennai Egmore – Guwahati Express scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 22.30 hrs. on 30.06.2008 is cancelled.

6) Train No.2515 Thiruvananthapuram – Guwahati Express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 06.30 hrs. on 30.06.2008 is cancelled.

 

 

DIVERSION OF CHENNAI EGMORE – RAMESWARAM – CHENNAI EGMORE EXPRESSES VIA. PUDUKKOTTAI, KARAIKKUDI AND SIVAGANGA

 

            Karaikkudi – Manamadurai section is proposed to be opened with effect from 2.7.2008.  Consequent to this, T.No.6713 Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram Express and T.No.6714 Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Express hitherto running via. Dindigul, Madurai are diverted to run via. Pudukkottai, Karaikkudi and Sivaganga with effect from 2.7.2008.

 

            Passengers who have already booked their tickets to and from Dindigul and Madurai stations for dates beyond 2.7.2008 are requested to contact the nearest Passenger Reservation centres for Full Refund.

 

 


118TH ZRUCC MEETING HELD AT CHENNAI

 

            The 118th Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee Meeting of Southern Railway was held at Chennai today (27.6.2008).  The meeting was presided by Shri Rakesh Chopra, General Manager, Southern Railway and attended by various heads of departments.  Hon'ble M.P.s Shri C. Kuppusamy, Shri P. Karunakaran and Hon'ble M.L.A. Shri Ananthalavattam Ananthan, Senior officials of State Governments, IGPs (Railway Police) of southern states, persons nominated to Passenger Associations, Consumer Organisations, members elected from Divisional Railway Users' Conmmittees of various Divisions of Southern Railway and nominees of Minister of Railways/Union Ministers under category of 'Special Interests' attended the meeting.  Members evinced keen interest in the deliberations.  Members raised various issues pertaining to the passenger amenities, services and facilities in the meeting.
